    Question

Okay . . . I just came across this on the newsgroups. Is this just a rumor?

    -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Steve Osborne tells me (and this comes from Classic Home Cinema's Pil
Sheard) that there will be a new Super-8 sound stock in the 50' catridges
this summer. It seems hard to believe to me, but he insists it's true.

There will also be a NEW Super-8 sound projector this summer -- selling for
around $700 or more. This will be manufactured in China I think -- but will
be a nice one with a 200 watt lamp. Don't think you can record on it --
strictly for playback, but if the lens is fast it should give a great
    picture.

As for the sound stock -- if it does turn out to be -- most likely it will
be from a different origin than Kodak -- maybe black & white only? At this
point, I really don't care anymore -- I would be happy with ANY single
    system sound option.

That's all I know for now.

    That?s sounds pretty good!!
If kodak continues launching to the market more and more Super 8 products, others film manufacturers will begin to do it too!!

This sounds exciting. New products must mean people are begining to see that super 8 is not dead. Long live small gauge film!

Any news on this? This would make me so happy, but I doubt very seriously that it will happen.

Cool Website, we need links on this site...lots of Super-8'rs are making their own personalized sites, not to take the place of this one necessarily, but each one has a definite form and function.
